THE SCARLET MAGAZINE

The Scarlet Magazine is a student-led digital and physical publication at Rutgers University-Newark. Students from the ACM Journalism department conduct research and compose articles. From there, students from the ACM Graphic Design department collaborate and provide visuals and publication formatting.

“Whose Song Matters?” is an article that follows the interview between Rutgers Newark Journalist Nakara Johnson and Rutgers - Newark associate professor Rachel Mundy as they discuss the professors’ research and publications regarding animal musicality and it’s evolution.This article can be found within the spring 2025 edition of the Scarlet Magazine.

“INFLUENCER” is a discontinued article intended for publication in the Fall 2025 substack edition of the Scarlet Magazine. As the story was dropped, the collage created for the digital article went unused.
